About the Founder/Designer
The founder Shah Emily Noaman has lived in Toronto for most her life where she began designing jewellery for family and friends in the mid 90s. It became apparent early on that she possessed a natural talent. She took her hobby and turned it into a part-time career while attending University of Toronto for business. She later continued designing jewellery at the same time managing her own dry cleaning business. As an aspiring philanthropist, she decided to try a new business model by opening her own jewellery boutique and tanning salon combo in the Rosedale community, called Bask Tanning Salon and Boutique. Stylists around the Toronto area flock to her Boutique to find that unique piece for their celebrity clients & photo shoots.
Shah Emily says "most of my ideas come from travel through nature. Often combination's come to me in dreams that I have, I wake up and I can't wait to get to my workshop so I can make it come to life. I create my designs with love and positive energy." Not all things translate the first time she says "at times, I make a piece and it doesn't look quite like I envisioned it to, so I take it apart and start again until I’m pleased with the final product. Some pieces take up to 7-8 hours. I'm a perfectionist…I believe that in business, detail is everything."
